The White Awake Parenting Manifesto
We are white parents raising Black and Brown children in a world not built for them —
and we refuse to parent like we don’t know that.
We are not here to “fix” our kids.
We are here to face the truth.
To unlearn what whiteness taught us.
To interrupt harm — in our homes, our minds, our systems.
We’ve tried harder.
We’ve tried being better parents.
But love alone isn’t enough —
not in a world that tries to dim our children’s light.
So we wake up.
We listen.
We get fierce.
We protect joy.
We practice accountability.
We mess up — and show back up again.
We are not saviors.
We are learners.
We are love warriors.
This is not about having all the answers.
This is about walking together —
raising our children with eyes open, hearts open, fists unclenched.
We believe in a world where difference is not just safe — it’s sacred.
We believe in raising free children.
We believe in parenting awake.
This is our path.
This is our power.
This is White Awake Parenting.
