Parenting Beyond Whiteness.
Marion Van Namen is a transformational speaker and coach helping white parents of Black and Brown children raise their kids with humility, awareness, and fierce love. With raw honesty and hard-earned wisdom, she invites audiences into the messy, meaningful work of waking up — and staying awake — as caregivers in a racially unjust world.
Marion doesn’t speak on behalf of her children — she speaks from the lens of a white mother who has had to confront her own conditioning, advocate inside biased systems, and build a home where racial identity is honored, not erased.
She does this work so that fewer Black and Brown children have to carry the emotional and institutional weight that her children have carried.

A Note from Marion
I speak from my own journey - not from my children's pain.
As a white mother raising two Black children with complex needs, I've had to unlearn patterns of whiteness that were invisible to me - and learn to love in a way that holds space for truth, trauma, and transformation.
I don't do this work to center myself.
I do it to change the conditions that made this work necessary in the first place.
My children are not my platform. But they are my wake-up call - and my reason to keep going.

Why Marion?
Because she doesn't offer easy answers - she opens brave space.
Because she lives the tension between fierce advocacy and deep humility.
Because she speaks with honesty, with heart, and with hope - for a better world for all our children.
